Portrait FAQ - JBM Photography

Portrait FAQ

How far in advance should we book?

As I only do Photography part-time, if you are looking for a specific date you should book as far in advance as possible. Please also bear in mind that following the session there will be potentially 2 week period for me to prepare the images for viewing and then a delivery period following that once you have chosen your product(s).

How long will a Portrait session last?

This normally depends on a number of factors, what you want in terms of style? Is it on location or in the studio? How many people are involved? If there are babies or young children they tire quickly but in general terms I would recommend no longer than 2 hours with an aim to be complete within 1.

Is their parking near the studio?

There is ample free (2 hour) roadside parking near the studio.

What should I wear?

Keep clothing simple and comfortable. Avoid heavy patterns, spots, stripes and logos as these may date so quickly. Everyone who will be in the images should wear complementary colours in the same/similar tones - so if one person is wearing light or pastel colours the others should choose colours that will harmonise with them.

There is time during your photoshoot for a change of outfit so you are welcome to bring a small selection and we can discuss what will work best in your images when you arrive at the studio.

Choose your colours carefully to ensure that they will co-ordinate with the decor of the room(s) in which the images will hang.

Decide formal or casual but don’t mix.

Feel free to accessorise in coordinating colours. Scarfs for mum, tights for the girls, shoes for the guys, etc.

Most importantly wear clothes that you like, fit you well and that you are comfortable in, have fun and don’t stress!

How do we decide what we would like to purchase?

Following the Portrait session you will be invited to book a viewing session, normally around 2 weeks or less following the session, at which you will be shown the images from your Portrait session and given the option to purchase your images.

What is the cost of the products?

Our products start from £75, with wall portraits ranging from £150 to £690 depending on size. All products will be explained in full at your portrait, where we can show you styles and sizing. Albums are also available. There is an approximate 10% saving when ordering at the first viewing session.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept all major credit/debit cards (except for American Express) and Cash (please note we do not accept cheques as payment.)
